wildlife photography course

This wildlife photography course is ideal for the complete beginner to wildlife photography or a beginner who feels they would like a little more in-depth and personal tuition.

Wildlife Photography Course – Get off auto in 2013

If your new DSLR is proving difficult to control and preventing you from taking great wildlife shots, our new wildlife photography course offers you an opportunity to really learn how to control your digital camera and take those wildlife images you really want.

Wildlife Photography Course for beginners – two wonderful wildlife venues

Many photography students have approached us wanting to learn the basic controls of their camera – Nikon,  Sony NEX, Lumix G, Canon EOS etc. They want to learn how to photograph wildlife and have a passion for wildlife photography but lack the necessary skills to do so.  We have now designed a wildlife photography course where they can do just this.  Additionally, we offer this wildlife photography course at two different venues.

Wildlife Photography Course – two different kinds of wonderful photography opportunities

Our new wildlife photography course offers the choice of two different kinds of wonderful wildlife photography opportunities.  The first is the London Wetlands Centre,  fantastic  for those who like to photograph waterfowl/birds.  The second is Bushy Park, which is a wonderful wild location for those wanting  to photograph deer, and other UK mammals and birds.

Wildlife Photography Course – Your day

Your course will run conveniently from 10.30am to 4.30am.  At the start of your day we will take an in-depth look at your camera’s functions plus you will spend some time learning how to control your depth of field and shutter speed to gain the best wildlife images.  Afterwards,  we will head out, either to the enclosures if we are at the Wetlands,  or out into the park at Bushy if we are there.  Here you will practice changing the basic settings of your camera, and controlling your depth of field and shutter speed,  in order to get the best wildlife images. We will look at how to compose a wildlife image.  We will also look at animal psychology – how not to stress the animals and how best to approach them through the understanding of the animals’  ”circle of fear”.

We will stop repeatedly during the day to review and critique your images on your camera’s LCD screen.  This is an important practice for you to learn.  When you are on your wildlife adventures,  you will need to make decisions on what images to keep and which images to delete  by viewing them on your camera’s LCD screen.

At some stage during the day we will stop and review and critique your images on a laptop. Additionally we will show you how to edit one of your images in Adobe Elements 11 to maximize  the quality of that image.

So if getting off auto is a must for you, and wildlife photography is your passion, then our new Get off Auto/Wildlife Photography Course, really is the one for you.

This course is personally led by Steve McLaren.

This course is suitable for DSLRs - Nikon,  Sony NEX, Lumix G, Canon EOS etc
